I love to be outside and so after leaving Drama school I spent most of my time trying to find projects that allowed for this. The team now work on everything from music, arts, community and private festivals. Sometimes we produce the entire projects and other shows we curate specific areas. I am always looking for the next adventure and love the way that festivals act as a hub for skill sharing, meeting new people and new experiences.
Here are a few of the Festival projects, some of which are still ongoing…
4000 lucky workers from all over the world, are invited to this incredible staff party festival every summer, and I get the pleasure of producing it.
This event has grown vastly over the years and so now partners with Broadwick Agency to deliver a high end, professional and operationally safe festival.
For 2 years we produced a small wellbeing area and fitness programme for Festival Number 6.
Highlights included the unique opportunity to paddle board in the incredible setting, join a morning woodland run or take a mindfulness course on the endless sandy beach. An absolutely beautiful part of Wales for a festival but the butt got a serious work out across a super hilly site.
Now in its third year, the wellbeing area within Standon Calling is a sanctuary for festival goers to take a moment to relax and submerge themselves in the wild, woodland surroundings. We host bushcraft skills, wild swimming in the nearby lake and an opportunity to either soak away in a wood fired hot tub or try you hand at acro yoga. An accessible yoga studio with classes for any skills, age or energy level.
For 4 years I assisted in coordinating a family of 800 people bring to life 5 enormous set builds in the south east ‘naughty corner’ of Glastonbury Festival.
We were on site for 1 month and to this day I have never experienced an event as challenging and demanding as this. But it was always worth it once you stepped back and witnessed such an outstanding creative, innovative environment and unbelievable reactions from the audience.
Joining this booming show in 2012 was an incredible opportunity to see how a large scale music festival integrated the arts across performance and decor. Everything from to Sink the Pinks late night homosexual disco’s to aerial performers dangling above 20,000 ravers hanging off a crane during Fat Boy’s set.
Every year was a new adventure and the family I made during this time are still a hugely important part of my world.
Arts Producer and previously Arts Assistant (aka Becky’s Bitch!) I had a wonderful 6 years programming, playing and proposing all sorts of random ideas from petting zoos to inflatable planetariums.
Camp Bestival allowed me to merge the silly with the learning to educate and entertain kids and families. Lulworth Cove was an amazing wild swimming spot which helped start each day on site fresh and free and ready to have fun!
Boardmasters - Zennor Haven
NEW for 2019, we will be producing the Wellbeing area for Cornwall’s surfers festival Boardmasters. Varied workshops from self defence to speed dating, laughter yoga to finger painting. Delicious healthy food, therapies, workout and then restorative practises, the perfect spot to refuel, reenergise and get festival ready again.
